Long-term occupants of your non-residential premises (for example, employees and tenants) may be exposed to asbestos fibres during, and for a period of time after, major intrusive works are conducted (such as the removal of asbestos cement walls and celings, and the use of power tools for extended periods), if those works are inadequately controlled. Therefore, it is important that anyone (for example, a tradesperson) working on your premises is appropriately qualified and takes proper precautions to minimise the generation of or inhalation of dust during activities, which may disturb materials containing asbestos.
